Please Power

When we were kids, we were encourage to use please when we had a request. “May I ride my bike, please?” “May I have another slice of pie, please?” “May I play Atari a little while longer, please?” If delivered correctly, you got your wish, granted. Somewhere along the way as we transitioned from adolescences to teens, the power in please got lost. Some may believe that the use of please makes you less-than cool, but on the contrary, please power illustrates strength, reverence and charm. “Could I please borrow your projector?” “Would you please pass the salt?” “Could you please seat us at another table?” Even now, if delivered correctly, you get your wish. If you’ve lost your power, regain it today by reinserting the power of please.
